“As a Duran Duran poster archivist for three decades, I've had the good fortune of seeing a vast array of artwork, each intended to represent the band’s remarkable brand. However, there are precious few posters that stand out as remarkable designs in recent years - pieces that would even impress Nick Rhodes. Craig Asbell’s promotional piece for the band’s DPAC show fits the criteria for such a high standard. Using minimal color and a bold style that pays homage to Patrick Nagel, the renowned artist famously associated with DD’s Rio album cover, Craig achieves a recipe that captures the essence of Duran’s legacy: a strong, sexy concept delivered with confident lines and a memorable look. This DPAC poster retains all the excitement of a Duran Duran concert advert while also standing on its own as a work of art, worthy of display in the home of either a devoted Duranie or the co-founder of one of the biggest music icons ever to emerge from the ‘80s. The poster is a testament to Craig Asbell’s graphic design prowess: distinctive, dynamic, and Duran-tastic.”
